About Sabino Ruiz Mestanza

Sabino was born on January 1st, 1959 in the coffee producing community
of Luya. He is a third generation coffee producer who practices ancestral cultivation
techniques such as referencing the phases of the moon to inform when to sow and
prune his coffee trees. The name Finca Mangos honors Sabino’s great grandparents,
who planted mango trees on the farm many years ago. There is also an abundance
of shade trees like guava and native chamizos that protect the lower canopy and
contribute to a healthy ecosystem.
