About Juan Garcia Casa Acconcharcas

Juan Garcia Casa Acconcharcas is an intergenerational coffee producer from Incahuasi Valley who uses traditional techniques and new technologies to bring high-quality coffee to the market. Since his membership with San Fernando he has gained more knowledge on how to improve production and quality, for example installing a water filtration system that allows water used for fermentation to be reabsorbed into the soil in a sustainable way, also he installed African-raised beds to ensure parchment is being dried to an appropriate moisture level. Traditional indigenous land management techniques often promote soil health and biodiversity, essential for a coffee farm’s health and future. Juan Garcia generates his own fertilizer by composting waste produced by the farm and uses smoke to deter insects.
