About Tore #3

Gelana is one of the woredas in the Oromia Region of Ethiopia. It was part of former Gelana Abaya woreda. The Tore Gelana site is located at Tore; the administrative town of the woreda. The altitude is 1700 -1900asl while the mean annual rainfall ranges between 1400-1800mm. Mean annual temperature is 15-280C. The soil is deep sandy loam with good fertility.
Tore coffee garden coffee which is sourced from 963 small scale farmers. They supply 100% of their produced coffee to Kerchanshe Trading PLC. The farmers reside in Jirme, Dango, Chalbesa Kebeles and Tore town. The coffee flowers in march and April while the harvest season extends from October to January.
There are 6 mills; 1 wet mill and 1 dry mill at main Tore unit, 1 dry mill at Tore Town, 1 wet mill at Giwe sub unit, 1 wet mill at Dango sub unit and 1 wet mill at Chelbessa sub unit. The annual combined production capacity is about 3,500,000 kg of red cherry.
