About Enrrique Portocarrero Muñoz

Ocumal is a district within the province of Luya. This region is known for its flowing rivers, prehistoric artifacts, and quality coffee production. There is no highway leading to Ocumal, but only craggy dirt roads and minimal conveniences. Any coffee that makes it out of Ocumal requires an enormous amount of effort and every bit of the journey is worth it. That’s why we are excited about Enrrique’s coffee and we know you will too.

Enrrique Portocarrero Muñoz inherited his family’s farm a while ago. He’s now 47 years old. Finca Ushum was named after a native fruit tree similar to plum that existed on the land, but no longer does. This speaks to the ancestral significance of Ushum and environmental changes that have been occurring in every corner of the world. Enrrique is an extraordinarily dedicated coffee producer who has invested much energy into all aspects of growing food and coffee in the forests of Ocumal.
