Yabitu Koba Two Ways

We’re having an exceptional year in Ethiopia, with quality across the board somehow overshooting the already-stellar year-over-year quality we’ve come to expect from our relationships across the country. Guji Uraga Yabitu Koba, a coffee we already look forward to every year, brings this energy doubly—in both a washed and a natural lot, available separately or bundled.

We’re extremely intentional about the naturals we bring in, selecting only those that showcase terroir, variety, cherry development, and harvest to the highest extent, which makes it extra fun to taste back-to-back washed and natural lots and see the flavors imparted and emphasized by the meticulous washing and drying processes.

These coffees land at surprisingly affordable prices, considering the current pricing landscape in-country.

We have a long history sourcing coffee in Guji’s vast, dense, high-altitude Uraga Forest. Coffees from Uraga pack all the punch of Ethiopia native landrace varieties, extreme altitudes of well over 2,100 meters above sea level, ecological integration, and careful tending, harvest, and processing, into an ideal cup profile bursting with dynamic notes of tropical fruit of all types, white florals, and vibrant complex acidity.

This year’s dual Yabitu Koba lots bring that energy in two exceptional profiles.

Yabitu Koba Washed: honeydew melon, soft florals, creamy custard

Yabitu Koba Natural: passionfruit, strawberry soda, lime zest, dark cherry, vanilla cream

We stayed in Ethiopia to supervise milling and shipment and ensure these coffees are prepared to arrive at their absolute best. We’re excited to taste your roasts of this spectacular coffee—hopefully two ways.
